Orchestronics® officially began in 1999. But long before that, composer Joe Wiedemann was taking inspiration from greats like Hans Zimmer, Vangelis, Jean-Michel Jarre, Yanni and Kraftwerk to expand the use of electronic instruments beyond rock and EDM. Classical, new age, ambient, and film music were all calling for new sounds and instruments. Orchestronics continues to this day, challenging common genre descriptions with new styles and sounds.
